    ‘Stop Staples’ Campaign Gathers Momentum

    In the wake of the APWU’s National Day of Action on April 24, the Stop Staples campaign is gathering momentum.

    After months of stonewalling by USPS management and Staples executives, the APWU National Executive Board voted to increase the pressure on the office-supply chain by officially calling for a “Don’t Buy” campaign for all products sold by Staples.

    And the “Don’t Buy” message is catching on.

    Settlement Reached on Conversions in MVS

    The APWU and USPS have reached a Step 4 settlement [PDF] that resolves a discrepancy between the Collective Bargaining Agreement [PDF] and Joint Contract Interpretation Manual (JCIM) [PDF] regarding the conversion of MVS Craft Postal Support Employees (PSEs) into residual vacancies, Motor Vehicle Craft Director Michael O. Foster has announced.

    350 Retirees Attend St. Louis Older Americans Month Luncheon

    More than 350 people attended the St. Louis Retiree Chapter's annual Older Americans Month Luncheon on May 9.  Thanks to the work of Local President Frederick Wolfmeyer and retiree officers Shirley and Melvin Sanders, the event grows each year.  St. Louis retirees serve as community and union organizers for the St. Louis Gateway Area Local.
